The schematic design phase in architecture is a pivotal stage where architects and designers synthesize their vision, client requirements, and site-specific constraints into a coherent blueprint. During this dynamic phase, they produce preliminary drawings, sketches, and diagrams that serve as the visual language to communicate design intentions.
Just after reviewing the architectural schematic drawings. Engineers and technician at pier4 tries to understand the Concept clarity, Building Functionality, Aesthetics, Site Integration and Material sustainability.
After understanding the purpose of the construction, Pier 4 team has been trained to provide a detailed concept presentation of the structure to inform architects and all the other stakeholders. It provides a detailed project report overview and the milestones.
Post concept presentation stage allows and gives power to all the other stakeholders to make any necessary changes within the structure to understand the functionality and feasibility in a detailed manner.
This stage is crucial as it seems to check the structural coordination within the MEP services and the design aesthetics which defines the horizontal as well as vertical offsets from the slabs. It gives the idea of slab divisions and span and support control in the buildings.

This is the final framework where all the stakeholder has the clear idea about the structural stability with the technical calculation of the overall concept of the building.
The drawings creation phase plays a pivotal role for the contractor to start the execution of the structure. It signifies a detailed design intent which would turn into reality. It provides all the imperative and the demanded data for the site execution.
Pier 4 team and engineers feels it as a sense of responsibility to ensure the exact design intent is being turned into reality while the site execution is taking place. Few checklists and SOP’s work as a pivotal document to the contractor as well as the clients.
The structural checks before the execution and post execution steps ensures the stability of the structure. At pier4 we prefer conducting few structural test to ensure the structural strength and the fulfillment of the purpose.
